Mental Health Community
The mental health community is currently organized around informal lunches. The lunches are a monthly get together for people who are interested in community for mental health (or just going through a difficult time). Mental health struggles are pervasive and stigmatized, especially in academia, and we seek to provide a space where people can make connections with other folks in hopes of building spaces where we can talk openly about mental health.
The group is meant as an informal gathering space. We can help you find further resources at Caltech if you desire but we are not a counseling group. Below are some resources that we have found useful:
- Counseling center: https://wellness.caltech.edu/counseling
- List of Pasadena therapists: https://wellness.caltech.edu/counseling/community-mental-health-providers
- Link to emergency fund for health crisis: https://www.gradoffice.caltech.edu/financialsupport/emergency-funding
If you are interested in joining the lunches, please email our [email protected]. The email list is anonymized once you have joined. The administrator is Sadie Dutton ([email protected]) if issues arise.
